Jewish Students for America students have testified in Congress, and now the JSA is working to push the DETERRENT Act through Congress. The Act blocks foreign funding in educational institutions from China, DPRK, Russia, and Iran. The goal of JSA is to amend this Act to include Qatar and push it through the finish line. To accomplish this task, the JSA needs to win the support of Democrats on the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, which hostile Sen. Sanders chairs. The Republicans will vote in favor of the bill, so our efforts now turn to the Democrats. The Democrats below have been identified as potential partners for moving this bill forward.
